Wow, that was a pretty old, crap FAQ. Forget you ever saw it while I rewrite it.
General Site Questions
Q: What's this site for?
A: Ani-Gamers is an anime, manga, and video game website that provides up-to-date news, insightful reviews, and other media about the worlds of anime and video games.
Ani-Gamers has a large focus on community, and we pride ourselves in our laid-back atmosphere and growing Forums.
We also have a program called Project uWrite that encourages our users to submit articles to be published alongside official ones.
Read our About Us page for more details.
Q: How did this whole thing start?
A: Ani-Gamers went through a variety of forms before ending up the way it is today.
Read more on our history at the Site History page.
Q: What happened to Anime Paradise!?
A: Anime Paradise was the older name of the site, which was renamed in 2006 to Ani-Gamers.
We've still got the same content, galleries, and staff, so don't worry.
Q: How should I contact the staff?
A: If sending a telepathic image across the world doesn't work, I'd usually suggest either one of three things.
Either email Vampt Vo at evanm@anigamers.com, use our contact form, or send a private message in the Forums.
If you need to get in contact with a specific staff member, just click on their e-mail link in the staff page to open up a new email addressed to him or her.
Q: What's up with the different layouts on the mainsite/forums/blog?
A: Ani-Gamers runs on a jury-rigged three-part system that involves three different sections connected across different free services.
The main website is hosted on MS11, while the blog runs on Google's Blogger software, and the Forums are from InvisionFree.
Due to slightly differing setups for each of these frameworks, the layout must be slightly different in each one.
Nevertheless, we (okay, just me) at Ani-Gamers are always working to better integrate the three parts into a coherent whole.
Q: Can I work for Ani-Gamers?
A: Why yes you can!
We are always looking for new writers, moderators, and bloggers to contribute to the site.
Just head over to the staff application page to see our requirements.
Q: Can you link to/affiliate with my site?
A: We do not post random links to other websites without a reason, so the simple answer to the first question is no.
Even so, we are always on the lookout for the affiliates, so if you think your website is professional enough to set up a mutual link, check out our affiliation page.
And if you want to promote us on your site or forum signature, the page also includes flashy, sexy link buttons
Q: May I use your character bios/summaries/images or quote your news/articles/reviews?
A: Sure thing!
The only thing to remember is that we require a link back if you want to use our content for any reason.
In addition, while our gallery images are for public use (they don't belong to us after all), our layout-related images (i.e. the banner) should not be used on any other site.
Q: What's Project uWrite?
A: While you can read more about it on the uWrite page, I'll give you a basic overview here.
Ani-Gamers, in an effort to really bring our users into the behind-the-scenes work of the site, has created a project called "uWrite" that allows you to write (see what we did there?) articles for the site.
Using an ever-expanding group of tools, you have the power to write your own news articles, reviews, and even opinionated articles about topics that you care about!
Visit Project uWrite to get started!
Q: Can I view Ani-Gamers in other languages?
A: Nope, sorry.
Ani-Gamers is an English-only website, and while we may occasionally lapse into Japanese (as is common with most otaku), we do not write content fully in languages like Spanish, French, or Japanese.
Even so, we welcome fans of all nationalities, as long as they are moderately fluent in English.
Community Questions
Q: How can I interact with the site?
A: I'm glad you asked.
Ani-Gamers has, in addition to our many content sections, an InvisionFree Forum, and we always encourage readers to join and discuss their favorite anime and gaming topics.
We try to integrate the content and Forums as much as possible, so you really feel like you're a part of the website.
Q: How do I join the Forums?
A: Either click the "Register" link in the top left, or just click this little link here.
Q: I want to do more, though!
A: That's why we have Project uWrite!
Visit the main page for the project, or read the question about it above.
Personal Questions
Q: Who's that weird Vampt Vo guy?
A: Evan Minto (a.k.a. "Vampt Vo") is the founder, owner, and editor-in-chief of Ani-Gamers.
I provide most of the content as the primary writer, and review/edit all submitted articles as editor.
Q: Who is _____?
A: You can find out more about any of our writers, editors, and other staff at the staff page.
Q: Why do you keep updating this site?
A: I'm a big believer in two things that keep me updating this website:
1. It's a wonderful thing when you can take knowledge and experience in something as simple as watching cartoons or playing games, and turn it into something that is not only fun in itself, but also beneficial for other people.
2. Always finish/follow through with what you start
Q: How much do you make from or pay for this site?
A: I know this is hard for some people to believe, but as of this writing, I make and pay absoutely nothing for this website.
And of course we're just talking money, because I obviously paid for Ani-Gamers with my sanity and social life.
Eventually, I plan to buy a domain name for Ani-Gamers, and maybe even get some (unintrusive, because I care about you guys) ads.
Q: Where do you live?
A: Ani-Gamers' staff lives in a variety of places, and we often only collaborate over the internet.
However, Vampt Vo and The Oracle currently live in New Jersey, and Ani-Gamers primarily focuses on an American audience.
