So, you want to be one of us...?
Ani-Gamers is a free-to-use, non-profit website based on delivering content from fans to other fans.
When you sign up, you'll get a chance to be part of a very personal, community-based website that serves a variety of anime and video game fans.
You'll also acquire valuable experience in journalism, writing, and website administration that can be used for college or job applications.
Of course, you'll be able to make friends with the staff and members here at Ani-Gamers as well.
Here's what we look for in a writer:
- Has a deep love for anime and/or video games
- Is an experienced, competent writer
- Can dedicate time to writing and can keep up with deadlines
Make sure when you apply that you understand:
Our jobs are on a strictly volunteer basis, so you will not get paid (at least not yet).
Even so, you may still reap some benefits such as review copies of anime/games or press passes at conventions. (None of these are guarantees)
Right now, these are our open positions: (you can apply for anything you want, but these are the main ones we are looking for)
- Anime/VG News Writer
- Anime/VG Reviewer
- Column/Article Writer
- Photoshop Designer. [for holiday images, pics of the month, and other odd design jobs]
When you sign up, please send us these four things:
- Your name, email address, and the position you are applying for
- A brief biography of yourself.
Include history of your anime/game fandom, previous jobs, educational background, hobbies, or whatever else you want.
- A rough estimate of how much time you can spend a week working for us.
- One to three samples of the type of work you are applying for, whether it be reviews, news, or graphic design.
Show us your best work!
Remember, we are very accommodating of your schedule, educational background, and so forth, so don't hesitate to send us an email if you're interested.
For example, if you are only in high school, or can only write one or two articles a week, we will still hire you as long as you write well enough.
