Nagisa
Bakery goods have never been cuter.
The Japanese voice-acting is what one would expect; fitting but not exceptional. The background music is somewhat bland, but it helps set the mood, which is all it needs to do. The opening is a remix of a remix of the original visual novel song, which should sound bad just thinking about it. However, the ending is quite an odd one, complete with dango families just wandering about the screen to a just as odd yet cute song. It is not an addicting song, but it is one that will touch you inside and make you go “Aww…” as your screen starts vomiting cute colors and chibiness.

Now, compared to other anime, CLANNAD’s nothing we haven’t seen before. However, it has its own charm and wit and was a fun viewing experience for myself; otherwise I would have just stopped midway like with other series. If you find yourself in a lack of anime to watch, I’d suggest this series if you like charming stories with a bit of drama and plenty of comedy. There’s nothing so sad that you would be brought to tears, but it lets you sympathize with the characters.
